S1 Residential at Lendrick Muir
The recent S1 Resilience Residential to Lendrick Muir was a roaring success. The young people of S1 took part in an outdoor education training programme spanning three days and two nights. The pupils pushed themselves out of their comfort zones by taking part in activities like Jacobs’s ladder, the Ratho climbing wall, search and rescue, and working in teams to complete challenges.
All of the staff involved are so proud of the efforts made by our young people. We believe this residential is an integral part of building resilience and relationships between our young people to help support them in their school life and beyond.
Here is what our young people thought, in their own words:
'Lendrick Muir helped me overcome my fear of heights and it helped me meet new people. It was a buzzing feeling.'
'At Lendrick Muir I was able to take on a lead role when doing some activities. It was the best.'
'I really enjoyed taking on challenges and working with lots of different people with different strengths. I made new friends on the trip.'
'Although I felt challenged, I was really proud of myself for trying.'
Clearly, pupils were not the only ones having a lot of fun at the S1 Residential.
