Welcome to the Learning Resource Centre. Our aim is to provide resources for learning and teaching, and to foster a love of reading amongst pupils and staff.

The LRC Book Group are running a Xmas Book Quiz with a top prize of a £10 book token. Enter before the end of Morning Break on the 21st December to be in which a chance of winning.

Staff

Mrs Brown LibrarianThe LRC is staffed by a part-time Library Assistant, Mrs Brown.

"I have lots of favourite books. I read Catch 22 by Joseph Heller when I was at High School and it is still one of my top ten."

Opening Hours

The LRC is open to pupils for borrowing and returning books every day during Morning Break (10:35 - 10:50) and the last ten minutes of Lunch (13:00 - 13:10).

Lunch Clubs run each day during the first half hour of Lunch Break(12:30 - 13:00).

The LRC is also open during Teaching Periods 2, 3 & 5.

Borrowing

S1-S3 pupils may borrow 2 items at a time for up to 2 weeks.

Senior Phase pupils can borrow 3 items at a time for up to 2 weeks.

All pupils may bring their books to the library to have them renewed at the end of their loan period.

Facilities

Study DesksStudy Zone - the LRC can seat 30 pupils at study tables

LRC ComputersComputer Suite - there are also 20 computers attached to a networked printer.

 

 

 

Resources

The LRC holds a large collection of lending book stock.

Non-Fiction Books

 Reference Section -

There is a collection of Reference books that can be used in the LRC.

Non-Fiction -

The Non-Fiction books are arranged in subject order using the Dewey Decimal Classification System. They can be borrowed for use in class or at home.

Fiction -

The Fiction stock is split into Adult and Young Adult/Junior collections. Both are arranged alphabetically by Author surname.

Lunch Clubs 

 The LRC Lunch Clubs run from 12:30 - 13:00 daily.

Monday: S1 - S3 Access

Wednesday: Book Group

Thursday: Study Club

Friday: Senior Phase Access
